Targeted nucleic acid delivery into liver cells

Abstract

Disclosed is a receptor-mediated complex that selectively delivers nucleic acid into hepatocytes. Circumsporozoite (CS) protein is the targeting ligand that recognizes a receptor expressed on the liver cell surface. The CS ligand is complexed with a polylysine component that can bind nucleic acid.
